# greythinkinglab > Nik G — founder, engineer, and creator. Building SlotOwl (70+ users) and Murmur, researching how machines might think, and talking about whatever's on my mind. Nik G — founder · engineer · creator. I build products, research how machines might think, and talk about tech, life, and everything in between on my channel. ## Products ### SlotOwl (Shipped · Live) - URL: https://slotowl.app - We watch government appointment portals so you don't have to. - Problem: US visa interviews, Mexico INM immigration appointments, Schengen visa slots — they open for seconds and vanish. People refresh for hours, or trust sketchy Telegram bots with their credentials. - How it works: A Chrome extension that monitors portals inside your already-authenticated browser session. Credentials never leave your device. No server-side portal traffic. Cross-device push when a slot appears. - Users: 70+ - Markets: US · MX · EU - Privacy: Browser-only - Portals: US Visa interview; MX INM · Residency; EU Schengen · VFS; US Passport renewal ### Murmur (In development · macOS) - URL: https://murmurapp.io - Talk to your AI tools. Bring your context with you. - Problem: Every new chat starts cold. You re-explain the product, the stack, the decisions — to Claude, to ChatGPT, to Cursor — every single time. - How it works: Hold a key anywhere on your Mac, speak, and Murmur pastes the transcript. It surfaces moments from past AI conversations that matter for what you're asking now, and attaches them before you hit send. ## Research ### Research 01: Deliberation (Open problem · early) - Question: How do you give an AI the ability to think — not answer in one pass, but hold a problem, revisit it, and notice when it's wrong? - Exploring: Loops where a model can pause, critique its own draft, and continue with memory of what failed. - Exploring: Local tools that keep a working scratchpad across sessions, not just a chat transcript. - Exploring: Whether "thinking" is better as a product surface people feel, or as infrastructure under other tools. - Status: I don't know how to solve this yet. That is the point of keeping it open. The work is exploratory, not a roadmap with a ship date. ## Background - 2014– — Eleven years shipping iOS: Including medical-device software. Building for real users, under real constraints. - 2025 — Started greythinkinglab: One home for the products, the research, and the channel. - On camera — Started the channel: Videos on tech, money, life, and whatever I'm thinking about. Sometimes the work shows up, mostly it doesn't. - 2026 — Shipped SlotOwl: Live on the Chrome Web Store. Privacy-first appointment monitoring. 70+ users. - Now — Building Murmur: macOS dictation and cross-tool AI memory. Early access at murmurapp.io. - Open — Research 01: Deliberation: An early, honest problem: machines that can hold a thought longer than one reply. ## Contact - Email: neutrino@greythinkinglab.com - Website: https://greythinkinglab.com - X: https://x.com/greythinkinglab - YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@greythinkinglab - TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@greythinkinglab - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/greythinkinglab - Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/greythinkinglab
